Course Overview
The Virginia Infection Prevention Training Center’s, Environmental Cleaning & Disinfection in Dental Facilities, provides dental infection prevention professionals with the tools and techniques to ensure a safe environment of care. This course covers the role of fomites in transmission, introduces high-impact cleaning and disinfection strategies, and explains how to assess environmental cleanliness. It also includes guidance on managing infectious waste safely and effectively.
Target Audience
Target audience for this course are healthcare professionals who are or will be directly involved in infection prevention activities in their facilities. These are infection prevention professionals who have participated in and gained considerable knowledge through specialized infection and control training and have minimal to moderate practice or fieldwork experience with infection prevention and control concepts.
