Do you want to participate in an internship but have found out it is unpaid or doesn't pay enough to cover your summer expenses?
Apply for funding through the VCU Internship Funding Program! Applications are open through April 1 at 11:59 p.m.
Learn more about the program and its requirements here: https://careers.vcu.edu/resources/internshipfundingprogram/
Funding will be awarded as a direct deposit and can be used to supplement costs for initial travel to and return from your internship, housing costs, childcare, professional attire, supplies, and more! **NOTE: Funding may NOT be used for tuition or course-related fees, program fees for an internship placement service, pet care, medical expenses for self or family, purchasing or renting transportation or gas for daily commuting, recurring payments such as rent and utilities, making car payments, or insurance.**
This info session will cover how to submit a competitive application.
When we say "project-based with a tangible outcome", we'd like to have a clear understanding of what skills you will gain from your experience and what the organization will gain from hiring you. This could involve creating social media campaigns, managing mentors, supporting the recruitment of volunteers by creating events and other forms of outreach, or writing about or presenting on your internship at the end of your experience. It is important that your experience goes beyond observation and moves into practical application. The key is to show how you and the organization will benefit from this experience.
