Preprint Repositories for the Engineering Researcher
Have you gotten questions about the August 2022 OSTP memo (known as the Nelson memo) concerning the updated recommendation that research funded by federal agencies be made publicly available immediately – without an embargo period? Preprint servers may be a route to compliance for your users. Learn more about this possible solution at this session, hosted by the ELD Professional Development Committee. The session will assist you in understanding the terminology used in relation to preprints, the rising number of preprint repositories associated with the engineering disciplines, and funder and publisher policies regarding preprints. Additionally, practical tips on IP considerations, and on citing and linking to preprints will be provided.
