Course Overview
This course provides an overview of reporting requirements for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).  After taking this course, learners will be able to describe six most common Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reportable HAIs, describe basic reporting requirements of the HAIs, describe basic data interpretation, and describe what cross-comparison data exist, where to find them, and how to interpret.

Target Audience

Target audience for this course are healthcare professionals beginning their experience in infection prevention and control training and who have little to no practice in infection prevention and control concepts. 

Audience examples include novice infection preventionists, clinical healthcare professionals, and nonclinical healthcare leaders, such as environmental services managers, who are seeking foundational infection prevention and control knowledge.
