The Return of Health-Related DNA Research Results

This Central VA SOCRA Chapter meeting was recorded January 17, 2024 with Beth Collins, MA, CCRP, Sr. IDE Manager, Research Compliance Branch, All of Us Research Program, NIH as speaker.  Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) tests identifies extensive portions of an individual's genome, revolutionizing precision medicine's clinical impact. However, returning health-related genetic data to research participants lacks established best practices. This talk aims to explore FDA guidelines pertinent to directly sharing research findings with participants and to discuss risk / mitigation strategies for research studies.
